I used to read a lot when I was younger but got out of the habit. I bought a kindle paperwhite and downloaded Libby. You can check out books (and audiobooks) from your public library. I’m in the DC area so a lot of the libraries have reciprocity and I have a ton of books available to me, but it may be a little different depending on where you are.
This way, you can just return a book you don’t like and takes the risk out of spending $10-$30 on something you might not finish. It may be a way for you to explore different genres without risk.
I love Libby!

If you’re not into reading, I’d suggest podcasts.... tons of them out there and they’re pretty engaging. I listen on my interested topics - entrepreneurship and behavioral economics

Rise and fall of the third reich (I’m reading right now), last two weeks finished rise of the warrior cop and the body keeps the score. All very good and three very different topics.
I have a friend from high school (well over two decades ago) that just tried his hand at a thriller novel and he knocked it out of the park! I’m not just saying that because he’s my friend but rather because it was an excellent novel. I recommend “West of Sin” by W. S. Lewis.
Three Days at the Brink by Bret Baier if you like history.
