Yeah, my wife's a consultant at another B4. I generally wake up earlier to either take calls, workout, or just get ready for the day. I usually have to step away for about an hour and a half while I get the kids up get them situated to get them off to school. We have one that's not in school yet so I have to wait till she goes down for her nap around 8:45 and then I can start work. To be honest, the mornings aren't bad because they're very organized, but once the nanny leaves at 5:00 it's generally pandemonium.
My nanny comes 9:30 to 5:00. But I do know of other people that have some help start earlier because of their work schedule. I'm lucky I get to work from home but I know others aren't as fortunate.
How did it work when the baby was 0-1
I’m not a dad with a wife, but I am a dad with a husband who’s gone for days or even week+ at a time. Before preschool, we had a full-time nanny, 7:30-4:30, now a do preschool for around that time (including before and after care). Then we have an evening sitter who helps a bit with dinner prep and household stuff as well (about 3 hours most days). Then most Saturdays we have a nanny/sitter for at least a few hours so we can do errands, etc
I had about 6 months off (16 weeks parental leave benefit, 8 weeks PTO) to have focused time with our twins, but then a few weeks before I went back to work, our full-time nanny started 7:30-4:30, M-F. And then we’d sometimes get afternoon/evening surge support.
