The invisible gorilla!

Maybe you should talk to someone The gift of therapy

A lot of below recos are around behavioral psychology / org behavior driven. Not sure if that's what you are asking for but here you go . . . .Drive by Dan pink. Nudge by Robert thaler. Flow by mihalyi cziksentmihalyi. Mindset by Carol dweck. Grit by Angela duckworth. Smarter faster better and the power of habit by Charles duhigg. Peak: Secrets from the New Science of Expertise – Anders Ericsson Essentialism by Greg McKeown. The war of art by Steven pressfield. A mind for numbers by Barbara Oakley. Deep Work – Cal Newport. So Good they can’t ignore you – Cal Newport. Suggest you watch their TED talks/a youtube book summary to find if the premise interests you. I'm trying to consciously do this as well.

Book recommendations? I come from non-Union/low budget line producing but I’m now working for a “real agency”. Ok fishbowl family - I need advice. Rising senior 1 here and realizing that I genuinely get no joy out of audit. I’m way too stressed and really do not care about accounting and have made it a life goal to never book a journal entry. I want to take the next year to figure out what my dream job is and go for it. Here’s what I like: I love talking to people, mentoring & teaching, organizing, learning. I literally loved everything in college- I was between majoring in accounting or psychology. 1/X

As a first generation college graduate, first one to land a job in Corp. America, there’s so much that I wasn’t prepared for like 401k, investing, along with other things that increase your TC that aren’t bonuses or your base salary or how to diversify your income. I’m 25 and I feel like there is SO much I still don’t know. Any good book recommendations/youtubers/podcasts that helps navigate this?

Book recommendations threads! Include title with a brief summary: ‘The Philosopher and the Wolf’ by Mark Rowlands. A book about connections beyond humans. Not just with animals, but the world. He does a phenomenal job of wrapping philosophical thoughts and theories into every day life. Highly recommend for those who love the outdoors, have a dog, or want a new outlook on life.

I’m the person who tells people it’s okay to open up at work about mental health issues, and that it’s okay to talk about it. I’m also the person who struggles with mental health but will likely not talk about it at work because of the past experiences I’ve had where colleagues brushed it off and told me to let it go/be better. I just don’t want others to not have anyone to talk to… but maybe it’s really me who doesn’t have anyone to talk to…
