I generally have a few lessons in which I can use Pixar shorts to teach students how to identify and discuss literary signposts, how to identify and explain the development of theme, character traits, and other narrative elements. What are some of your favorite shorts? I am trying to incorporate activities where my students get to choose their own clips for independent practice with these skills and need a variety to draw from.

I am more concerned than ever about this sinking boat… the cash flow issues, understaffed teams etc. the investor won’t let us invest in better technology (the whole internal apps sucks… I have 4 mailbox to follow and the lovely help center). It’s everything but not efficient… I am so done to do these tons of admin tasks… it’s mind blowing. Anyone else does feel the same?

Why have I made African friends (born in US but with immigrant parents, recent citizens or on Visas) so much more easily than African Americans (I have very few)? Could it be that I play soccer which many Africans love and play proportionately more than AAs who play many different sports? In work I get along with AAs but think I always have to reach out and put more effort in. With Africans it seems to come natural and we both put in work and our energy matches one another’s. Cont.
