Not sweethearts but were casual friends who reconnected at our 10yr reunion. She drunkenly slipped her number in to my breast pocket, we celebrated our 18yr wedding anniversary three weeks ago. Careers are strong, got three exceptional kids, gonna BBQ and drink margaritas outside tonight. Life is good!
Almost high school sweethearts . . .
We met during college freshman orientation and started dating right away. Only dated each other in college, got engaged middle of our junior year, and married seven days after we were graduated (promised our parents we’d wait until after we had our degrees).
Next year will be our 25th wedding anniversary and loving our life together.
I know people have different opinions about marrying young and being on your own before you settle down. For us, we were kids and we built a life together. Because we became adults, attached, there is nothing that can drive us apart. We grew and evolved together so we can handle any thing thrown at us.
Just celebrated our 5 year wedding anniversary a month ago and hit 18 years together this month!
We started dating before senior year of high school and then went to the same college for undergrad. Did long distance for a few years while she was in medical school and I was starting my professional career in a different city. She then matched to residency in the city where I was working, so we bought a house and lived together for a few years before finally getting married when she finished residency. We now have one kid with a second on the way!
