What are best ways to change your career?
I am a graduating student who just got offered 65k for a solution analyst role at Deloitte USDC (Data Engineering Focus). From reading previous posts it seems to be a lot of negative thoughts surrounding the USDC, but straight out of college is this a good opportunity?
I'm looking to gain as much experience as possible out of college in an IT role and wondering what exit opportunities may be in place a year or two down the road if there is little/slow progression.
Any Advice?

Context: I’m a CLO of an F500, team of ~150 lawyers and non lawyers
I would always favor some in house experience over pure firm experience. The transition to in house business focussed advisory can be hard for some attys and I’d rather know that you know what it is before I put you into a key leadership role in my team (this role in my team would be a direct report to the GC) . If I was hiring someone direct from a firm to lead a practice area like this I’d need to know that the team they’d lead had deep experience with my business and could manage the balance of business risk without help- in that world the new leader is likely needed to add gravitas and technical skills to the function (as otherwise what are they there for) - so straight outta biglaw would make sense. If on the other hand I just need someone to lead the group because I have too many direct reports, my first choice would be to use it as an opportunity to give someone already on my team more responsibility.
Long way of saying, I think it would be tough to go straight into an AGC role with no in house experience. But I’d also note you can get that experience through secondments - you don’t HAVE to take the full leap in order to understand what in house is.
No one wants to train the “check your ego at the door” for moving in house.
Agree ⬆️ secondments help. Anecdotally, friends (top 10 law school, AM Law senior associates) have said they would get interviews in top tech companies for senior positions but we’re passed up for candidates with some in-house experience.
Getting that in-house experience in the first place is hard though…. :(
