My company blames my generation for not being able to hire everyday. “You guys don’t want to work” coming from some overweight, racist, old coaster. I’ve barely taken any days off this year and pick up “skeleton crew” days any chance I get. People who hold a JD and work in tax, how much did you make as a tax manager or senior tax manager? Alternatively, how much did you make 10 years into your career. Just wanted to see if it’s worth going back to law school if I already hold a CPA and am at the manager level.

Is it possible to work in public tax and work 55 hours or less during busy season? Over the past few years I’ve seen my work/life balance in the summer fade, which is making me reassess my career choice. Lowering my hours this time of year works make it easier to justify staying in public.
