I am looking to make a career change to HR. I currently make 75K as a sales and development coach. I had a recent offer for a state government position in a talent acquisition role but I’d be taking a $25K pay cut. I am extremely over qualified for the position but it could possibly be a stepping stone and gives me the time to acquire SHRM certifications and possibly start taking classes to get my MBA. My question is those currently in an HR role, would this move make sense to you?

I found an Austin young professionals group, but it’s almost entirely realtors and loan people. Which is fine, but I’m looking for more typical networking professionals groups.

I liked the Project management institute, but I’m looking for more. Either General professional, finance, tech, or healthcare focused ones would be ideal.

I’ve been working as a RPA developer for 4 years. I joined a program that trained me in this role as a opportunity to start a career when my initial plan fell through. I’ve don’t pretty good so far…given multiple roles, pay increases etc. Honestly I don’t enjoy my job anymore and would like to make a change. I want to transition to a tech Product Owner/Manager role. Any advice on how to transition ?

I’ve been working at my current company for 11 years, for the past year I have been waiting for a promised promotion. I have been fully remote for 7 years pretty much good work life. Busy. In April they said I have the job still waiting. I am a project accountant III to a finance business manager.Could be long nights &stress. Still unknown pay maybe 20k increase.. Last week I was offered a govt job at NGA (Budget analyst) 40k increase not guaranteed remote. 45 min drive +retirement

Is anyone currently on the job hunt? What has your experience been like? I still don’t see a ton of agency side media jobs their mostly client side and it seems super competitive given the current state of unemployment. I get everyone is still remote but I feel like things should be getting better on the job front given things have relatively opened up here.

If you are a first year in a stub year, and significantly under billable hours requirement, do firms typically still give pro rated bonus? Do first year stub associates really ever hit their pro rated hours in those 2-3 months?

Those who have returned to a law firm from being in-house - what was your experience like? If you hated a firm the first time, was it better the second time around? I swore I’d never go back, but seeing the newest round of BigLaw raises and salary increases I am genuinely considering it - I’m getting married and planning for kids shortly, and would like to buy a home in our HCOL city, and while I’m not starving on my in-house salary and am fairly frugal, I don’t feel like we have much cushion.

I find all so often you need to tell the client what they want to hear to keep their business and I feel like so much of the what I recommend doesn't actually get implemented. I'm looking to make a career switch so I can both create and execute on my strategies. A product management path seems very promising for this.

Many people say our services are terrible. Without first hand seeing the ppl do our services (unlike consulting) Is there anyone that can give more insight into how our services actually level up and compete against the big 4? Is it just me or does Optiv need to be more like the big4 and change it’s model around to be more like a big4 consulting firm?

So I keep hearing about folks from Deloitte jumping over to optiv, but I am just starting to hear rumblings that some people are having some serious buyers’ remorse. Any ground truth or is it just grass greener syndrome?
