Me! There’s a lot of pressure financially which means I’m more hesitant to take risks and jump jobs. And I have guilt when I want to do something alone on the weekends that requires him to watch the kids. Quite frankly, I’d much rather stay home but that’s just not the way it worked out for us.
👆 this exactly!
Lucky you
And so nice for your baby. Try to accept it.
Me! We switched. I stayed home for a year when 2nd baby was born. He’s been home for 18months and holding it down so well. I make sure he gets a good 3 hour chunk every weekend to just be alone. I also get home 1-2 days a week early or work from home 1 day a week to help. We divided the duties so both of us felt it was even. Money is tight, but we are happy
I did it for a year. It was nice knowing my child was with a parent, even if I would have rather it been me. I felt the same way, but know that it’s very temporal. The kids will start school and your partner can have their time. Always a partnership with child rearing
Multiple women I work with have this arrangement. They do mention their husband had some WFH that is light/low hours.
