Does anyone have experience with a good design/contractor company to build a custom home office? I want to turn my office into a legit, office space seeing as I spend so much time in it. Any recs?
Despite getting next to no sleep and feeling constipated, I have finally figured out why I have been so happy all day. Summer dress code in the home office!
Well, guess I will be using my standing desk…
Thoughts on nomad lifestyle? My “home office” is 3 hrs from my parents. I want to see if others have done this success. I have friends that I can crash with occasionally on Thursdays, bus elsewhere.
Does anyone have a recommendation for a product that helps with potential carpal tunnel? I realize we don’t always work in the most ergonomic environments and I need something to help, esp. w/ travel.
Question on taxes, I worked in another country this year (although remained allocated to my home office in the US). When filing will I have to do anything special and/or claim foreign income?
IKEA Bekant standing desk series - yay or nay?
What’s the best item you’ve bought with a home-from-home office set up stipend? $500 or under.
Anybody have terrible wrist pain and bruising happing on their right (dominant) arm? I have a standing desk and standing chair.. not sure if too high or too low or if a padding issue. I have a mouse
Anyone have a good office chair recommendation? Really not trying to spend more than $150 but willing to go to $200 if there is a really good recommendation. Thanks!
Struggling to decide on a new chair for my home office. I really want a cute one (and a pretty desk) but also really need the support/comfort of a real office chair. My current one is cuter and it kills my back. Has anyone actually found a cute one that’s supportive? Or do i just need to suck it up and settle for one that doesn’t match my decor?
Has anyone bought a standing desk converter and used EY’s quality of life program to get reimbursed?
I am lateraling because my firm has forced us back into the office 5 days a week. My office isn’t super social and we are all slammed, so going into the office consists of sitting alone in my office, just like I would at home, except I wasted an hour getting ready and commuting, am in uncomfortable clothes, and am less efficient. I am actually miserable sitting alone in a cold, drab office as opposed to hanging out in a beautiful home office with my dog. People in power: take note.
When there is a huge line of people (30+) for the deli at your home office, but the lunch lady surprises you with your favorite chipotle chicken wrap already toasted and ready. #winning #goldstatus 😁
I am about to join PWC. Will they reimburse for ergonomic chair ?? Will they send chair on request?
As an incoming BTA at Deloitte with an assigned home office as Atlanta. Would it be out of line for me to ask to switch offices before my start date (July)? Thinking of asking to move to Chicago.
Deloitte new hire (boomerang).. tax manager..start in July. Will the first week onboarding/orientation be at DU? Or home office. TIA
Frustrated with work as we all are. Single mom insurance defense litigation for mid sized NYC based firm. Base salary is 136k nominal bonuses. Struggling to meet work demands (deadlines, billable hours) and then also struggling financially. Just curious if what I am making is going rate, am of counsel after taking 6 years off of practice 10+ years practicing. Thanks!
Why don't more partners (esp. tier 2/MBB) just retire at ~40-45? What keeps a person going at that point? I get working a job that's meaningful and and for a cause close to heart, but why work an objectively demanding job when you have multiple millions saved and a fairly high level of prestige in your field?
How rude is it to accept a decision round international flight in from a prospective industry employer and then not take the job?
Anyone have any inside info on Critical Mass in LA? Leadership, work/life balance, culture, the usual.
Don't you love it when you work for a sick firm and then you find out that Jon Snow dies AGAIN in season 7. Btw spoiler alert! But shit man. Read the books, he dies again for good. Work sucks. Ahhhhh
Hey everyone! I have passed L1 and L2 interviews in Birlasoft, have HR interview tomorrow. Profile - python AWS developer Work exp - 2.5 years, Wipro Limited How much hike should I expect/ask for?
I recently got laid off and decided to go freelance. First agency that reaches out to me for freelance work... the one that had just let me go 🤷🏼♀️
Is it easy to make the switch from Big4 to MBB?
Which CC is better for sign-up bonus - Citi Premier 80K points or Chase Aer Lingus/Iberia 100K Avios points? I churn somewhat regularly and am under 5/24 by 1. I think Citi's points are more valuable but maybe I should knock out another Chase card before I'm at 5/24 again, even though Avios isn't as versatile?
When I was laid off 2 weeks back, I thought I would miss the big 4 culture, travel and hotel logistics. But 2 weeks down the road with a job in hand in my local city with zero travel, (contd)
Long term which do you all see as more lucrative consulting for big 4 (assume you ultimately would make partner) or move to tech industry? We can debate WLB separately but this is purely money
Does anyone know the comp/salary band for Capital one (Senior Associate, Risk management) 🥺🥺
Does anyone have the Away suitcase? Specifically wondering about the “bigger” carry on and how that fares with travel / fitting in the overhead bins.
What is the most “elite” life sciences shop? Thinking about switching bc of my passions but don’t want to lose the prestige of MBB
MBB folks, what’s the glamour with FAANG to you? I ask because I have done multiple strategy projects for/with FAANG, and could likely get an offer, but I still want MBB 🤨 Am I missing something?
Was about to accept an offer with a smaller brand strategy firm and got a push to interview with Deloitte for a partnerships lead position that really matches my profile…but love the culture of the smaller firm. Go for big brand name and bigger check, or growth and connection at smaller firm with exciting work?? Obviously just in first round with Deloitte—but 25yrs old, so trying my best to think ahead and make smart moves!
I’ve been thinking about looking for a new job, but given everything going on with the Coronavirus and layoffs, it doesn’t seem like this is a good time to start looking. What do others think?
It’s 2020, are men still expected to pay on the first date or is it acceptable to split 50-50? Not trying to start a whole debate on modern gender dynamics, I just need practical advice.
So managers, when someone really smart is working for you, how you do you balance your personal interest (him/her continuing to work for you) and giving them an opportunity to flourish outside your team if it becomes available? My manager just made a comment about a colleague who is honestly great and deserving of a promotion, but that would mean he leaves our team.
