Please if you can help and advise?
I have just joined Amazon Retail as sr Program Manager a month ago. I miss banking/technology now. I have heard that I can move teams. I know it’s too early so I don’t know how to approach this situation and potential HMs. Reaching out to this community to seek help if you have similar roles for which you (or your network) is hiring, would you be able to help? It’s better to be in a relevant role and be best than performing poor in current role. Please help.

Tough one - totally depends. Some companies will expect you to glue your hand to the phone and just dial all day, others will have dedicated In/Outbound and you‘ll be more on the pursuit side, driving bids, pitching etc - and then there may be a portion of Account Management / Client Expansion, if applicable. Based on my experience, I‘d always recommend to focus on one of the three. Personally like the New Business where you can drive the sales cycle but no cold calling etc.
Typical stuff you do on a daily basis:
Discovery Calls, Pursuit team calls, bis review and tailoring, channel / Partner sales alignment, Admin (Salesforce or any CRM), Prep for client pitches, relationship management, Pitch deck creation, contract / commercial negotiations, business reviews - there is a lot that you can do!
I’m on the inside sales team at my company so (which btw we have about 15 open positions in different roles, it’s called Seagull Scientific in Seattle Wa, hybrid work model) a typical day for me contains answering inbound phone calls from either customers or partners, sending leads to partners and creating new ones, some light prospecting but no heavy focus on it, mostly lead qualifying and the usual sales stuff like meetings scheduling calls with clients and trying to create a good pipeline.
