Get a mesh WiFi system. Don’t get extenders.
@EY2 works well with two people working from home and streaming TV. I would probably recommend the X60 if you game. I can run 4-5 people working on that one doing video calls and such no problems. Maybe research the x20 online since I don’t game at all.
Google WiFi has worked like a charm for me.
Same and an added bonus is mesh points are also Google homes
I got an extender from Target (live on the 3rd floor, modem is in basement). Wifi is perfect, only cost about 25$

Strongly agree with D1. You want mesh.
I got the eero pro 6 and it’s not bad. Ordered the orbi rbk753s from Costco to see if it’s any better. It should come tomorrow so I’ll let you know this week which ones better.
For context my house is 2400sq ft and I wanted mesh system for my ring cameras outside the house. Load time for live view has been significantly faster w/ eero pro 6. My zoom call used to lag with my old router when my wife was in a meeting at the same time. But that has gone away as well.
Update: returned the eero pro 6 and kept the Orbi rbk753s as the orbi blows the eero out the water. Speeds are more consistent putting out 200+mbps throughout the house where eero was around 100…not even close.

The key here is “WiFi 6” aka 802.11ax and not 802.11ac.

Google Nests in a mesh network solved all of my issues. My speeds are 5-6x faster in my downstairs office than before.
Update: I got the TP-lInk Deco Wifi 6 mesh system. I have had it for a week and its a game changer. Thanks all! Fingers crossed..
PS: got the 3 pack from Amazon for $199..thanksgiving sale

Google WiFi is the sh!t
If you have wired Ethernet in the house, go all in for ubiquiti. Way better hardware, and it's solid af
It's definitely prosumer level, so yes to all that.
Really love my Amplifi mesh system.
