I lateraled from a small firm to regional big law last year. I was told that my offer was commensurate with class year (5th year). The firm recently increased first year salary, with a 5% increase for all other attorneys. My original salary was equal to the new first year salary. The difference between my new salary and a first year is now $10k. I think it is fairly obvious that the hiring partner was not truthful with me. How would you address this? Is another lateral move my only option?

I’ve been thinking about this for awhile now, but it is very to commit to actually accept a new job offer since I really do love my job. My only complaint is, the pay vs workload is very small. I’m a manager now and my property offered me a director position… but the salary is still low! To make six figures, it’ll take another 5-6 years to grind it out.

Should I move on and go to a different industry? Opinions are welcome! Thanks in advance.

I am expecting an offer from Master Card for Senior Software Engineer position in O Fallon MO. Please let me know what kind of base salary I can expect with 11 yrs experience . Does anyone feel like they don’t want to go back to normal? On the one hand, absolutely I want to. I miss seeing friends, dressing up, going out, and traveling for work. I just signed the offer letter from Absolutdata acquired by Infogain , and even before joining the company they sent me a welcome kit.
