No, my father is blue collar and the reality is way different than what is often romanticized.
Stick to your day job and build a deck on the weekends like the rest of us.
THANK YOU. Modern America seems to be searching for something real in its fascination with "country living". Whether it's Chip and Joanna Gaines farmhouse style or thinking blue collar living is simple and down to earth. The reality is, as much if my extended family knows, it's hard work with its own set of problems and not luxurious, relaxing, etc. It's a life and it's a good life. But it's not what people seem to envision it as.
When i went to the US Virgin Islands, there were a bunch of American expats giving tours on their boats making a killing off of the tourists. Living. The. Life.
I’d imagine still retired, just quarantining like the rest of us. No need to be bitter about people’s success...
I would love to quit and open up a beach restaurant in the Florida Keys
Yep. Was a welder. Go to work and leave work at work - drink beer and hunt or fish on weekends. Then got smart - went to college got a consulting job - feel stupid now
