No, my father is blue collar and the reality is way different than what is often romanticized.
Stick to your day job and build a deck on the weekends like the rest of us.
THANK YOU. Modern America seems to be searching for something real in its fascination with "country living". Whether it's Chip and Joanna Gaines farmhouse style or thinking blue collar living is simple and down to earth. The reality is, as much if my extended family knows, it's hard work with its own set of problems and not luxurious, relaxing, etc. It's a life and it's a good life. But it's not what people seem to envision it as.
When i went to the US Virgin Islands, there were a bunch of American expats giving tours on their boats making a killing off of the tourists. Living. The. Life.
I’d imagine still retired, just quarantining like the rest of us. No need to be bitter about people’s success...

Just leave on good terms
Part of me wants to quit and captain a charter fishing boat
Ha, I actually crunched some numbers on this a couple weeks ago. Won’t get rich doing it, but would be a hell of a lot more fun than the alternative.
I’ve always wanted to be a Starbucks barista..
Also a barista in high school. It was pretty great back then to clock in, work your 20 hours, and clock out. I also realized that I didn’t want to work full time (40 hours) as a barista lol.
I just want to open a coffee shop in a small coastal New England town someday
Every damn day. Did construction over the summers while in high school and it was far more gratifying than anything I’ve done thus far in my professional career.
Not sure if blue collar but I wouldn't mind owning and running a hobby store. Or an bed and breakfast.

I run my own bed and breakfast everyday but they aren’t paying my bill.
I am looking to buy land and raise organic goats and chickens for slaughter and eggs. My hobby when I retire will be to work at a school where my grand kids go (long way off since my kids are 5
Clearly EYP, that was implied. Are you also daft at in person comms?
I owned a restaurant for a while, it made me grateful for this job. This is a piece of cake!
I owned a specialty food store in addition to consulting. It almost killed me. So. Much. Work.
I'd like to be an independent contractor doing finish carpentry.

Yes - would love to own a boutique hotel and tour company in the Caribbean. Might not be blue collar

EY7 - if you do, DM me and I’ll stay at your hotel!
I loved “Into the Blue” as a good B movie. If money was no object, I’d just be a treasure hunter in the Carribean.
I’d be an HVAC technician, or an electrician.

I was a blue collar worker for 16 years before starting in this industry. I’m good right here.
Already made a lot of money before slumming in the big 4. I would like to try my hand as a car mechanic or engineer
I wanted to get into photography but I realized I wasn’t willing to hustle and go through the struggling artist period. 😔
All the time.. I’d like to quit and be on the hallmark channel
Meta Question: What would be your first Hallmark movie title name as you transition from consulting to a hallmark movie actor? It’s gotta make a middle aged person smirk and say, “oh c’mon now that is clever!”
Fuck no. Manual labor fucking sucks and I really enjoy the lifestyle my paycheck provides, that a blue collar job never would.
I tried driving around for a while on ride-sharing. It does help you polish your skills and may be get some satisfaction. But you want to hold on to what you doing and possibly excel in it.
Boredom is natural for all job types.
