The main thing lately is to make sure you keep it very simple. Any nice formatting that may look good to a human eye could be rejected as gibberish by the robotic scanners. It's also usually advised to use the same keywords that would be in the job description, but that would probably happen anyway. It might also be useful to read up on applicant tracking systems (ATS) just to get a feel for how things should look.

Thanks. I knew the resumes were screened for keywords but hadn't thought of reading up on applicant tracking systems. Appreciate the insight.
Oh boy are there new guidelines! Lol I'd look deeply into making your resume ATS-friendly. Most resumes don't get seen with human eyes, not unless they make it past the AI screeners that look for exact keyword matches and simple formats. So you have to tow the line of making a very basic resume to get through the screener but still keeping it impressive enough for a real human if it makes it there

I'm seconding this. I help out a lot with hiring processes and for our jobs with a high number of applicants online, 90% don't even make it to us.
