Any claims counsel/adjuster for insurance companies here? The company itself reached out to me for this role but not sure if I want to leave firm life just yet, although no billables sound pretty damn enticing. Just want to know more about the role in general, any pros & cons, etc
https://hbr.org/2020/01/what-top-consulting-firms-gets-wrong-about-hiring thoughts? Article mentions case interviews as a poor predictor of performance.

Literally, is ANYONE hiring a Sr Producer in Chicago right now? Feels like we’re in a royal family where the monarch has to die before the line to the throne moves up an inch

I'm a Microsoft Dynamics and C# Developer at a Big 4 consulting firm. But... working with Dynamics for the last 5 or 6 years is starting to wear on me. The salary is great because there is a shortage of qualified Dynamics developers, but I want to do something else, even if that's just back to being a run of the mill C# Developer. Maybe this is more of a rant or I'm letting off steam, but has anybody on here ever essentially gone from a specialized type of roll to more general role?
Any ex-EY folks here who did withdraw the pension money? If yes what age were you and how much did they offer?
Continue living at home to save money but at the expense of your mental health or move back to the HCOL area for work and save relatively little but feel at peace, what would you do?

Do you think I could expense a weekly meal delivery service (it’s precooked - just have to microwave it) during busy season? Would be delivered to the office and is cheaper than ordering in.
Any insight to what bonuses look like at USDC? Curious to know what to potentially anticipate. A couple friends in core GPS last year claimed receiving as little as $200-500 for bonus...
A colleague shared with me the presentation they have prepared for their promotion case. I worked with them on multiple projects during the year and I can clearly see that some of the claims on the deck are wild exaggeration or lies. For example, managed changes in scope for Project X including contract changes. Plot twist: there never was a change of scope for Project X and the contract is exactly the same. How can people be so dishonest? How far can you go before truth catching up?
Where do you invest your money? What investments have worked for you? Has anyone invested in rental properties? I was planning on buying land in DFW area? Not sure if it a good investment
So, a new associate recently joined our team. We are still WFH. I’ve tried to be friendly with the associate but somehow not getting traction. Any suggestions? I’m the only one that initiates any kind of interaction online too. What’s the norm here? I would expect an associate to reach out more, but they only reach out to tell me to do work, which is fine too, just used to working with more social associates in the past.
When based in a city like NYC with multiple hubs, how do you think about the airline to chase loyalty on?
Have any of you had trouble getting interviews at startups due to them wanting more startup experience? I've worked on many greenfield projects for clients and more mature projects, so I'm not sure why I wouldn't be a good candidate. The funny thing is when you look at the bios for some of these founders and see just how inexperienced many of them are. One's bio was basically the list of clubs he belonged to in college.
Looking to get a few certifications, I have worked in both IT and HR consulting and am trying to decide between ITIL, SHRM, and PMP. Any thoughts on which would be best for future, quickest to get, hardest test? I get the cert paid for and a bonus upon completion, so trying to decide which one to pursue or the order if I want multiple.
In interviews, I clicked *really* well with the partner, and reasonably well with the SM. Then the opposite experience for another firm; reasonably well with partner, really well with SM. Which relationship is more important?
Been on vacation for 3 weeks now and was just assigned to a project for when I get back. Had to log in to sign background checks but completely forgot my password since it's been so long...
I went through a pretty rigorous interview process for a marketing project manager but ultimately wasn't given job. Though most of the feedback was positive, the other candidate had more direct experience with the job responsibilities (digital assets, social media, etc.) My job/company dabbles in digital but it's primarily traditional media. How do I again the experience if I'm limited by the type of work we do?
A partner said on a client call that we really miss an associate I’m filling in for and that the team should be up to speed when she gets back. I can’t help feeling a bit slighted by that. I get that she’s much more senior (I’m a 1st year who started a couple of months ago) but I don’t think I’ve done a bad job at all. My first brief was spot on arguments wise and didn’t have much redlines. Am I reading too much into it? Should I check in with him to ask if he’s unhappy with my work?
