Anyone here ever been on an interview panel? What are some things you learned from doing an interview that you wished you knew from the begging?

When does the recruitment cycle for the top20 firms end? I applied to many, heard back from one(which i later got rejected for). Do i still have a chance of hearing back?

Is McKinsey Middle East not growing as fast as some of the other firms (BCG, Kearney, S&, …)? Haven’t heard of many people interviewing of late, especially for the UAE offices

Starting us off with an important tip: Your resume is a marketing document, not an autobiography. It should include relevant jobs, responsibilities, and perhaps most importantly, achievements. Where you can quantify an accomplishment or just talk up a major project you led at work or in an internship, do so. The point is to make the hiring manager think, “Wow, I need to talk to this person! They seem like a good fit!”

What's the point of asking to write code in an interview, if all we do is search in google or stack over flow. 🤔

I went through all the stages of interviewing with a firm then they chose not to fill the position. They said internal priorities changed. I saw about 5 months later they posted a similar position. Guess who has another interview!

Please suggest any good sources to prepare for data engineer interviews in GCP, Python, SQL, Pyspark. I have worked only in a few tools in GCP and done basic coding in pyspark and above average in SQL, but need to be prepared to handle all questions to grab some offer. Need advice. Very Shy guy and girl, met a while back for a side hustle both like each other a LOT, relationship has progressed in other areas but not in the physical realm, primarily because neither officially asked the other out. Guy is a very rough around edges, asked for a date by saying ‘anytime you need breakfast or lunch, let me know’. I am an independent gal and didn’t like the way it came across. How many interviews is too many? I’ve done 5 one on ones with different people in the practice group. They want me to talk to a few more, but I’m frustrated. It’s so hard to find time to schedule these things and the associates don’t seem to understand I can’t just take them in the middle of the work day at work. Recruiter thinks it’s a good sign. FWIW they haven’t communicated to me position level they’d expect.

Was trucking my load across statelines, as one usually does. Turns out the new guy sitting next to me was never properly trained on how to secure said load inside the truck. Now we're trying to put everything back in it's place and it's so annoying. I don't blame him but still.
