I love SD and would love to move there but the far West location and small(er) airport make me worried about moving there.
I live in San Diego and fly all over. Typical West coast time zone challenges, but it is America's Finest City!
I think the SD airport is great. Surprisingly good route options, even to the east coast — and often cheaper than flying out of SF.
I think most of us do monday to thursday travel.
Sometimes i do Sunday to Wednesday travel.
Travel lifestyle seems to be more tolerable when you are younger and are on a fun team.
What is your travel like?
OP: Depends what typical client locations are you looking at. Travelling out of west coast becomes very tough if most client locations are on the east. Added to that, not a lot of direct flight options from SD.
I do a ton of cpg work - so can be all over the place from a travel location perspective.
Been on an engagement here for the last 8 months. Team members fly in from Chicago, Denver, Minneapolis, San Fran. Hasn't been a problem
It could be inconvenient a few times a year from a travel perspective but feel like it would work fine. Go for it if you really want to do it
