I did live overseas in my husband's country for five years. But it was almost impossible to find work and so I spent most of the time just being a stay at home wife. I probably wouldn't go unless you're able to financially support yourself, or find a job that will pay you as a 1099.
I’ve heard of people living on ships before, but can’t imagine it would be cheaper than living anywhere in the US over 1-2 years. Which cruise line will you be aboard? 😂
If you want to live in another country you need to decide what country. Many large companies have offices in other countries. Are you fluent in other languages?

I haven't but I would like to own a place in Montreal or something... being on the east coast. Europe sounds more expensive than the US when it comes to living
Took a gap year and lived in Spain. I loved everything about it. If you can make it work, absolutely go for it. Getting out of this country and experiencing life in another part of the world is such a good thing.
Yes have done the UK and Singapore. The UK is just as expensive as any other HCOL in the US (especially in london) once you account for the lower average wages and higher tax rates.
We lived in Dubai for 6 years. It was a blast. My children went to high school there. It was expensive but salaries are higher than US
