Anyone here work with foreign tax reporting? Studying for my EA right now and as far back as college I know I’ve wanted to work with international business in some capacity. Chose accounting, specifically PA tax and now I’m looking to attempt to learn that area. I am looking for any advice, courses or certifications (EA instructor for the course I bought mentioned something about a certification?) that you might find useful for someone diving into international tax. Thanks!

I work in international tax. But I went the BS and CPA route. What questions did you have?

like

I guess I'm curious what your day to day looks like. Did you attend any courses or get any certifications to do foreign tax reporting/work with foreign compliance or just something you pivoted yourself into throughout your professional career? I'm asking about the courses/certs because the instructor for my EA study course mentioned something about that I'm just not sure what is available. I found an AICPA CPE course like 80 credits worth for $700 not sure if this is something that would provide me any value.

When I moved in-house a year ago as a BigLaw mid-level, I took a 45% pay cut, far more than I was comfortable with (although I was fine with a 20-30% cut). I took the job because it was a great role and I was focused on making the jump in house and developing the skills I wanted, which required me moving away from my firm practice area. Now that my year-end review is coming up, how do I ask my company for a significant pay raise (not just a 2-5% inflation-matching raise)?

Does anyone have any tips on certain job positions or companies where an LLM would prove to be useful with my background?
