I have e-mail archive from 1y ago of my reach-out to 65 VCs in London: we had video calls, they might remember me still, who knows.
I want to send a reply/forward message to the same e-mail thread from abc@gmail.com, saying that I am looking for roles within their VC firm. Is that a good idea?
Or shall I just start new email thread and mention how I know them?

Not at pwc anymore, but I was in PCS. Depends on where your office is, but my office had lots of auto manufacturing clients, so most of our clients year end was 3/31. We do have 12/31 clients too though, so our busy season was pretty much from Jan - May. From what I remember, our deadlines didn’t seem as strong as core assurance. So our busy seasons tend to be extended too.... esp if the client is new and won’t give us stuff on time. Oh and we had tons of first year clients. We have smaller clients so they come and go because a lot of them were bought and changed auditors. That was fun. You see more of the financials though. I pretty much have tested all the FSLI before I left.
It’s such a small town, don’t wanna expose myself 😂 but pay was $60k for S1.
PCS Assurance
Pros: Smaller teams in the office so you know everyone in your group. You get to work on a bunch of FSLIs. (I had my internship in Core and I saw that difference since most people worked on 2-4 FSLIs in the city I interned with), so I felt like I had more accounting exposure in PCS.
Cons: Busy season goes until May usually. Smaller teams lol. An audit can drag on sometimes. Clients can give shitty PBCs.

In PCS tax. This LoS will vary a lot by office location. Smaller offices will have you doing PCS and PFS work, so you have more deadlines but a chance to see more work. IMO, PCS kind of gets screwed with hours but if you want to open up your own shop, then it’s the place to be
@PCSAA1 I don’t mind PCS tax. It’s 95% compliance work for my group. I’m an A3 currently, and for the foreseeable future I’m staying at PwC. My problem is that I see myself getting very complacent in a compliance role, so I’m speaking with HR/my RL about a transfer/talent rotation.
@SA2 Pre-covid, id say we were more than flexible enough. I never had a problem taking a day off for doctor appts, or vacation days as long as I gave decent notice. Seniors and up in my group had pretty much unlimited flexibility. Our managers would only be in the office 3 days a week. Post covid, I’m planning on working from home 50% of the time
What I like: smaller team, more exposure to complex accounting problems, hours have potential to be better during busy season, and clients are small enough to the point you may actually be helping them with their financial reporting.
What I don’t like: Client’s are small so that their reports you are given to work with are garbage and barely workable, busy season can tend to be longer (at least double), more first year engagement exposure, and could be on a new client every two weeks depending on the time of the year.
What are skillsets people generally come in with at the senior associate level?
Pay is similar if not identical to core assurance in my market
Also, how is travel?
Depends on your office location. If you’re in a city with a lot of PCS clients nearby, then that is probably the farthest you will go. Smaller cities kind of get screwed in PCS and personnel get pulled onto any engagement that needs help pretty much. I am somewhere in between those two. The farthest I have had to travel was to a state much farther away by air travel for a week during busy season. The rest of my clients were less than a 30min daily commute.
