Oh yes and it was a tough situation because I was working hard to do the best job I could, but the customer was not satisfied and made a formal complaint. Management had to draw the line and ultimately decided that it was best to part ways.
No, usually, your managers are on your side. The worst that has happened is someone asked to speak to my manager and that resulted in my manager just hearing out the complaint and not doing anything but repeating the same thing I said. I also work with HOAs a lot, and most of the time, they’re aware of their customers and side with us when they complain.
If I didn’t do anything, there’s nothing to talk about. I’m good at following procedures and covering myself when I’m communicating with a client. I’m also very patient and never talk back or act passive-aggressive with clients so because I manage myself well I’m rarely in need of any corrections or reprimand. This way, it's easier for management to see your POV.
Nope. When I get a rude customer, my manager allows me to even hang up when I feel like they're crossing a line. If necessary, my manager may call a rude customer and tell them to treat her employees with respect, or they'd be unwelcome to buy her stuff somewhere else. It's awesome to know your manager always have your back.
