Anyone struggling with interviewing and think its partly due to being an introvert? I continue to make it to final rounds always losing out to another candidate, no feedback given. I’m qualified for these roles and take the time to prepare. I think its a challenge to respond in the moment, plus I’m on camera, etc. I am worried I’ll never get out of consulting if I cant land a job. Anyone else struggling with the interview process?

What kind of roles are you interviewing for?

I got an interview coach and that was a game changer for me. 100% recommended. Interviewing is a skill that needs work just like any other, and I bombed countless interviews over the years until I actually realized what I needed to fix.

@guidehouse- not consulting ones lol! I’m ready to get out of the industry after many years and looking at Program/Portfolio Manager, Directors of Ops roles, Team Leader roles etc.

Thank you!

Yes, interviewing is tough. The fact that employers cannot provide feedback (doing so sets them up for lawsuits) is the worst part of the interview experience. Have you tried role playing interviews with a few trusted friends who can give you feedback? Best of luck! I am trying to change jobs myself and am almost 50.

I quit my previous job approximately 5-6 months ago due to toxic culture and being pressured to commit fraud… I fear hiring managers see that I’ve been out of work for this time and may assume I was fired or laid off. Additionally I’ve had a couple interviews where company “X” interviewers have commented on this and in an effort to not bad mouth my previous employer I’m stuck with a generic answer like I want to take my career to the next level with Company “X.” Any thoughts/advice?

I got invited to a second round interview with a big company. The title sounds more senior than my current title, but the work responsibilities feel like a step down. I am wondering if I should still interview (to see if they will consider me for my desired role instead or at least, get some interview practice for when a better opportunity comes along). Thoughts? Is it ok to reject the offer if they make one, on the grounds of the role not being a good fit for me.

I have an interview with Korn Ferry for an associate principal role and am curious about others’ experiences have been with work-life balance here. Also, I have an idea of what I should be compensated in this type of role, but any insights on how they pay compared to others would be helpful. Are you traveling during the pandemic or have client interactions been virtual? Lastly, if you are a consultant here, are you on billable hours? My current consulting role is not - so this would be new.

Hey guys,

I have a shown the same as gap for personal reasons in my resume.

Will i have any problem after joining this new MNC during background verification as per the standards?..

Really need your help if anyone has faced this situation or know anything on the same.

What are your thoughts about putting an explanation for the current gap (as in, I haven’t been working for several months) on your resume, LinkedIn profile or cover letter? If you think it should be included in one of these places, how would you do it?

Need advice on a specific question!
Interviewed with Chicago court 2 weeks ago; they decide mid-August. Interviewed with DC judge last week; hear from him by this Friday. Chicago said if I need an answer before August, they'd try to make a decision about me sooner.
Should I ask Chicago for an answer? Or should I wait until there's an offer from DC judge? Maybe seems better to withdraw before an offer is made rather than ask for time to think about it/turn down DC? What's proper etiquette?
