Travel the world, stay in fancy hotels, eat at fancy restaurants, work on a variety of projects with many different smart and ambitious people, interface with high level executives, get your MBA paid for, learn a broad set of business skills, constantly challenged and pushed to be better, get airline and hotel status to spend on swanky vacations, plethora of exits like private equity and corporate strategy.
MBB consulting is literally the best foundation for a career in business. What does a product manager at salesforce do exactly? Review Jira requests to implement a new button in a sub menu within a sub menu?

For someone like me who grew up never going on family vacations, eating out at nice restaurants, staying in hotels or even flying more than once a year it’s been a really cool perk of the job, not sure why you want to be so snarky about it. Getting the opportunity to have a fully expensed trip to different cities in the world is really cool.
1)2 very different career options depends upon what you want to do/interests
2)tech bloodbath

1). To above MBB will have layoffs soon. It’s only a matter of time.
2). Consulting in general is a great place to start or maybe end your career but not so great in between.
Laugh it up winter is coming. Have a nice thanksgiving!

4. MBB -> PE exit
Hey OP, the reason is that time in MBB will unlock more options and allow you to jump the career ladder. Also, MBB is not having layoffs, which is nice right now as we watch the tech world drama.

Because they couldn’t get into deloitte
They’re very different paths that lead to different endpoints. Go to MBB to maximize options. Go to PM if you enjoy tech and want better comp and WLB early-mid career.
Most answers here are going to be biased as you’re asking in a consulting forum. Not everyone in MBB will make it to PE (nor is it the optimal path to PE anyways). Not everyday in MBB is spent personally jerking off Jamie Dimon. Not every study will be in Monaco.
Know plenty of folks who spent much of their time at MBB in flyover states, doing PMO, and not contributing much but slide decks that were never looked at again.
