Typically only entry level analysts (college hires) are overtime eligible. So if they worked 41 hours in a given week, that extra hour would be paid.
Everyone else is salaried.
Extremely rate to actually get paid the overtime. That eats into the budget.
99% of analysts that work >40hrs/week do not have “formal approval” from managers to do so. So you work as efficiently as possible to meet your deadlines, report 40hrs worked, and appreciative managers will tell you to take a half day at some point down the road if you worked really late.
Might vary depending on location, but that has been my experience in Tier 1 City, USA
It’s actually a good thing. You’ll have an opportunity to make extra money.
If it's a consulting role those hours are based on your billables. You'd be salaried but expected to bill 2080 hrs to clients.
The 2080 hours includes holidays, PTO and other absences, training, business development, bench time, and the hours you bill to the client.
Likely there will be some OT in addition to that whether it’s paid or not. Speaking for myself at least, I’ve kept pretty close to 40 hour weeks for the last year though
