Are there any healthy snacks available for free at your work? I get free coffee which is great, but it would be cool to have like fruit or healthy bars for snacks

No, we just have coffee and hot water and teabags, and sometimes packets for hot chocolate. I wouldn't mind if we had some fruit or energy bars or whatever, but I don't think anyone wants to deal with administering that. I usually bring my own fruit, I think fruit in the early afternoon keeps my energy up. It may be a placebo effect, but it works.

like

Yeah administering it is probably a good point...It would be nice, though. I should try bringing my own fruit!

I work at Presbyterian Hospital but I also own 2 private practices and I offer free coffee and retail as well as afternoon pastries and fruit which I think everyone deserves.

like

That sounds awesome!

like

Maybe? We have a relaxation lounge on the far side of the hospital I have only ever seen the outside of so far. Rumor has it they have coffee and free snacks if all kinds available to whomever gets there first.

If you don't have time to check out the relaxation lounge, I think it is not effective enough lol

like

Everything except beverages you must pay for.

I don't think any job I have ever had offers snacks to their employees. The hospital i currently work at actually did offer snacks for each shift every day. They would have a bowl of fruit and a bowl of junk food. They quit doing it though because employees would come in and take them all before everyone got one.

Everyone is scattered throughout (Hamilton, Barrie, Lyle, Newmarket, North York). Don’t want anything too fancy but don’t really know where or what is good and not downtown.

Any recommendations? (Open to GTA of course).

SO and I got in to a disagreement on the background of Indian tech CEOs. It appears that they are all from 1 or 2 major communities in India.

While he thinks that its genetics/being naturally gifted that got them to where they are I believe it's the environment & discipline that made them successful. We are not from said communities but curious to hear your thoughts on who is more accurate.

So… 3.5 year relationship came crashing in Jan due to covid depression, work burn out, lockdown etc. We have stayed in contact and recently he has come around to apologizing and considering getting back together. I’m upset that he’s dating others but shouldn’t be right? I mean, I did the same. Still hurts though. And I told him to sort that out
