Yes, I believe we are headed into a depression and that our SS $$ will disappear.
I don’t have any eggs. Can’t find any. So not worried.
Given that we haven’t had a major crash since ‘08, it’s likely going to be in the next five to ten years. Living in fear, though, does not help - managing risk does.
Seems like we’ve been on a bubble for a while now.
I personally don’t have nearly the nest egg that I should, but my mom’s still sitting on multiple family trusts. I’m crossing my fingers that the guy who manages those is doing what he needs to do to protect her (and, by extension, my brother and me).
You’re going to have at least one major stock market crash in your retirement assuming you live to a decent number. I figure that if you have 3-4 years money is low risk investments, then there’s a decent chance you can ride out a crash.
