Are we heading towards a major financial depression or collapse in next four years? I am getting close to retirement and would hate to lose my nest egg because of heartless and mindless shenanigans.

Yes, I believe we are headed into a depression and that our SS $$ will disappear.

I don’t have any eggs. Can’t find any. So not worried.

Given that we haven’t had a major crash since ‘08, it’s likely going to be in the next five to ten years. Living in fear, though, does not help - managing risk does.

like

Seems like we’ve been on a bubble for a while now.

I personally don’t have nearly the nest egg that I should, but my mom’s still sitting on multiple family trusts. I’m crossing my fingers that the guy who manages those is doing what he needs to do to protect her (and, by extension, my brother and me).

You’re going to have at least one major stock market crash in your retirement assuming you live to a decent number. I figure that if you have 3-4 years money is low risk investments, then there’s a decent chance you can ride out a crash.

Which offer should I accept? Currently staff 2 at big 4 in Tax with CPA license. I want to leave tax ASAP. Both are public companies +1B in revenue and same salary. Offer 1 - staff revenue accountant so reading contracts, speaking with the sales team and legal team, a lot of work at the end of the months to close books and reconcile transactions to make sure we are ASC 606 compliant. This track usually leads to director of revenue. Offer 2 - internal audit staff so SOX and compliance projects.

Hi, I am a PhD student and I have recently started preparing for consulting. I have gone through basics of framework and have watched few YouTube videos. I am at the point where I am seeing diminishing returns by studying more books. Anyone willing to help or are there people in the same boat? Would love to connect with potential study/case buddies! I have limited privacy experience despite being hired for that reason… Have my CIPM and CIPP/US /E and /C. Remote preferred; hubs is pilot with cool intl transfer opportunities. Money isn’t issue.

Hey everyone. I found out we are expecting our first child and I’m really nervous. I got into consulting one year ago and I’m up for promotion this year. With timing of our performance conversations I would have to inform I’m pregnant before outcomes - then shortly after the promotion effective date I would go on a leave for due date. I’ve worked really hard and I’m worried our wonderful news will throw chances with this :(- also if I don’t get promoted pretty sure it’s up or out. Any advice?
