No. In a rut and looking for more challenge. 😭
My happiest was when I was an AD. Being CD is not all it's cracked up to be. The job becomes more about time sheet management, politics, crisis management, structural organisation, and being in meetings all day. It's like, you get promoted because you do a good job. But each promotion feels like punishment...as it brings you farther from the work. Don't get me wrong, i LOVE the mentorship aspect, and making people grow, that's what keeps me going. But the endless meetings discussing BS will be my demise. I look back at the days when all I did all day was "create"... enjoy it while it lasts. My friend just got promoted GCD and he's depressed. It's a thing.
Zero career growth. So no.
Nope. Bored AF. But glad to have a job.
Glad everyone else feels the same. Also more depressing
@Sc1: It's hard to refuse a promotion when the boss you respect really wants it...and when society conditions everyone to think that titles are the proof of achievement. It's tough. In other countries (Sweden, France...) there are senior creatives in their 40s and they're AMAZING. But here it's not perceived the same way. Also, to be fair, a new role is always exciting in the beginning until the novelty wears off. Some agencies have working CDs/ECDs vs "managers" too. That's awesome. But also frustrating for the people you're mentoring because you're basically competing against them. And usually they'd rather work hard than waste their time mentoring juniors, which I don't find cool. Ah, nothing's perfect! Yeah money's great! But you spend it on stupid shit because you had a bad day. I was objectively happier with 100k less. My theory is that they pay you that much because that's the price of having your soul sucked. Anyway, it's all good tho. The positive thing is that it allows me to save $ for my next career.
Six months ago? Yes. At the moment? That is a hard no. Makes me realize I'm burning out, fast.
NO, HATE IT, LOOKING FOR NEW OPPORTUNITIES
Stupid-happy with what I'm doing, but not sure what happens next
There's always gonna be something shitty about any given position. I've accepted that there's no perfect situation.
CD1: If you could go back in time, would you ask to never be promoted and just be an amazing senior creative forever? Or would you not do that because you would never make CD money?
Somehow got myself a gig working with W+K so life is pretty damn sweet rn
this post suffers from negativity bias BTW
Yes, but just at the moment
-ish.
No, I'm getting tired and bored of it. I think it's time for a change...
Nope and that's why I put in my two weeks!
Yes.
if deep depression is happiness then yes, i am happy
So unhappy
