The most hilarious mail from today's mail explosion:

Hey everyone, I got a call from Deloitte recruiting on Wednesday of last week discussing salary requirements and location. They told me that the team really liked me and that they were going to work on an offer. I got a call on Friday saying one group has approved the offer but they are waiting on others. I haven’t heard much since then. Should I be worried? How much longer will I have to wait?

To each his/her own. There's no template career track per se.
I went in-house just before I entered my 4th year. Was there for 16 months - made great contacts but got bored with the work and didn't see myself developing so moved back to a law firm recently.
A4: thankfully I didn't find it too difficult to move back to PP and my old firm was willing to take me back as well although I didn't take them up on that.
But in most cases, in my practice area at least, the firms do not count your time in-house as PQE so I didn't want to spend too much time in-house although the job was definitely less stressful and the pay was great - especially since my end goal was to move back to PP anyway.
Many attorneys move back and forth. It really depends on the firm, the company, and the practice area. Privacy is a hot area. The upside is that you will have insight into the implementation of much of the legal advice provided and you would have additional insight into tinternal company considerations that law firm attorneys may not be privy to.
Go for it if you are aware of and okay with the grass not being greener on the other side and the possible career limitations.

Many of the attorneys I interviewed with said they think I'm a perfect fit for the role but cautioned me that I need to think carefully as to whether I'm truly ready to leave biglaw. They claim biglaw training is unmatched. Am I doing myself a professional disservice by not staying in biglaw for another year or two?
There is never a perfect time to move. No matter when you decide, there’ll be people who will tell you to wait a little longer. Follow your instincts and do what’s best for you.
Not if you’re sure you never want to practice in a firm again and are ok with the slow climb through ranks in house.
