Tbh it is very very office and engagement specific. One team in the office might be awful and another might be amazing. We have teams who are fully virtual by choice and others who’s managers dictate 3 days in office mandatory because they are micro managers on that team. So switching firms could definitely help but nothing is guaranteed. Might as well give it a try though?
A lot will depend on which office and engagement you get put on. If your on a larger engagement you will have a lot more support then if your on several smaller ones likely.
I feel when I joined public accounting I was in a. Similar place and took it as an opportunity to excel and develop into a senior faster. One thing you can ask or try and find if you lack support on your engagements is a mentor that can help guide you when you feel lost.

No one cares if you leave after 8 months. At this stage in your career, you’re a commodity.
You’ll be a commodity at Deloitte. You’ll be a commodity at any sizable PA firm, B4 or otherwise. This only really starts to change when you become a manager.
In all honesty, the reason you were ignored in July is because it’s the traditional slowest time of the year and no one cares what the A1 is doing so long as they put in their timesheets in July.
Not trying to be rude, but I think you do need to realize where you are in your career. This is a difficult adjustment for some people because we tend to recruit from the go-getters in school.

OP — plenty of people give themselves work for no reason. If you stay in this industry long enough, you’ll meet them.
Mandatory OT for tax normally starts in August, correct? I’m aware of there being some teams with busy Julys, but if your managers and seniors aren’t focusing on the job, that’s usually an indication it’s not a priority.
But you’re right — I don’t know you or your team. What I would have recommended is you reach out to one of them in July and asked them what were priorities and when deadlines were. My gut is if they were MIA, it probably wasn’t priority.
Love is a strong word for any firm and for any job (and frankly for any partner!!!). You may not love Deloitte like you do PwC and maybe the honeymoon phase of work is wearing off anyway. Hard to leave someone you love for someone that may just be looking for friends with benefits. Could be more fun, I guess.
Big four will be big four. But some offices can be better.
