Hi All!
I am currently a Senior Software Engineer(Backend) with 4 YOE. My current CTC is 21LPA (All Fixed) with additional Yearly bonus. I got a call from Google (Pune/Bangalore/ Remote) for Software Engineer - Backend. I have the following doubts but any insights are welcome -
1. Does the lower designation offered make any difference?
2. Kinda ambiguous, but what kind of hike or ballpark pay can I expect?
3. Any similar interviews experiences or focus areas I should prepare for?

Deloitte question. I have always gotten a raise each year, the only question I ask is how much of a raise do I get. But I’m hearing from former Deloitte folks, it is naive to expect annual raises each year however small/big they are? And how does this play in Deloitte consulting vs advisory? Do one tend to withhold annual raises in base salary over the other, or is this just a deloitte culture thing? Looking at exit opportunities all over. So lmk! I’d Rather get a small raise than none at all.

Can’t speak for Microsoft specifically but a lot of companies keep roles open in evergreen status to build a candidate pool for future use or manage a high turn over position. You may not have heard on previous roles for that reason.
You should assume it’s genuine. I wouldn’t interview someone just because the referral came from a sr director, although I might reach out to them to say I was already close with another candidate (or some other excuse to avoid ruffling any feathers)
That’s fair, thanks again...easy to overthink things, just got to put best foot forward and see!
Why do you apply as I'm reading your post as if even you feel you're not a good fit for the roles you're targeting?
I think it’s a good fit, potential stretch role but feel good about the R&R, just trying to gauge what the recruiter might be thinking
How well do you know the people referring you? It usually matters... if the person referring is a former colleague and can directly vouch for you it carries more weight than the ones who share that you connected through "networking" - regardless of the level of the person referring.
@ACN - Family friend is typically better than random connections since they may be more willing to vouch for you when they write the details about the referral. Either way congrats on getting the interview.
