HBS recruits people from potato farms in Idaho, and oil and gas in Pakistan (Shell Oil). HBS has a true diversity of applicants.
Stanford gsb has a lot of PE guys whose daddy made a call to get them in, and a lot of wealthy internationals who work with admissions consultants. Not a lot of diversity there.
Not true at all. Look at the class profiles. Stanford is much more likely to go for the non-traditional backgrounds (media/entertainment, education, professional athletes, entrepreneurs). HBS is much more of a pipeline for traditional applicants from consulting, finance, banking, etc.
Both have their share of unique candidates, but to say the HBS class has more diverse pre-MBA experience is simply not true.
Probably things like legit entrepreneurship (meaningful exits), top tier social impact, top tech companies, and MF investing
Honestly I think nearly every path can feel impressive depending on the circumstances (consulting / banking prob the exception…)
