8 months but he was actually 5 months developmentally because he was a super preemie. Bottom line, pony up the money for a daycare. Even with remote work, you cannot be productive with a baby at home, at least in my personal experience. You can save money by using a home based daycare instead of a bright horizons type place in many cities. I know it’s hard but that’s the life of a working parent. Wish I had better things to say 😕

NYC has licenses and regular + unannounced inspections. Do your diligence of course but we’ve been using our provider for almost 2 years across 2 kids

Find a baby sitter .. it’s better than daycare . Your kid will not be sick all the time and will get better care
We started at 4 months when my wife went back to work. Yes, kid got sick a few times initially but in retrospect, one of the best decisions we made as he’s turned out be comfortable with new faces, and developed good social skills.
Started daycare at 4 months. Our daycare offered extended day so I could pick up at 6. My sister had a nanny who would stay through dinner time. No matter what way you go, the first years are logistically tough when you have 2 people working demanding jobs. It’s all about maximizing help in all areas of your life- whether you pay for it or get help from family.

Same. We staggered our leaves and started daycare the day after mine ran out.
No daycare yet. Wife and I managed together when she was wfh like me. Now she is RTO full time so I watch the kid while working.
5 months.
Thank you all
We got a nanny for 2 under 2. Infinitely cheaper (Denver). I wfh and my wife works in person. Daycare is way too expensive and as noted above, your kid will get sick constantly (and so will you).
