Amazing how much the model y came down in price! Build quality kind of sucks but it’s very fun to drive and no more gas
They have to reduce the price because their product sucks and is about a decade old
The Q3 sounds nice on paper, but it’s just a tall VW Golf and the quality of the interior shows where they cut costs (it’s no A8). It’s gonna be a step down in “luxury” from the X3.
The CR-V and RAV4 are fine choices for people who hate cars and hate driving. They’re popular for a reason, but it’s the same reason Olive Garden is popular. No thanks.
Full disclosure: I have a plug-in hybrid. I am optimistic about electric cars, but the charging infrastructure is still lacking in the region I live. I’ve rented Teslas almost exclusively when I travel, as they end up being cheap and convenient. I hate Elon — not necessarily enough to “never buy a Tesla”, but I still wouldn’t buy one yet. Build quality is still questionable, and Tesla seems to be bent on reinventing things that don’t need reinvention (no buttons! NO KNOBS! Pretty soon, no steering wheel!) Also, the Model Y is quite possibly one of the most boring cars I’ve ever driven. It’s absolutely an appliance, not a machine that makes you smile.
You already have an X3. Get an X1 or a Mini Countryman. Or, tbh, the BMW i4 eDrive35 is a bargain (with discounts/rebates if applicable) and is secretly a hatchback that delivers SUV-like cargo room.
Thanks art director. My other car is that rare bmw X3 hybrid. We love that one! It was a great deal coz it came with the tax rebate and also it serves as daily errands commute on electric and our weekend trips car. Another car I saw is Toyota Corolla cross. Maybe I will check out Chevy volt too, not sure where it is size wise.
Uh. My deciding factor was what’s the best deal and for me it was the Model Y at 0.99% APR. I used to have an Audi A4 and absolutely loved it but gas is just ridiculous nowadays, especially here in California, so that also played a factor. If money isn’t a major issue then go with your heart!
Yeah that’s the dilemma, Tesla is only on the list coz of the price and EV and 0.99 APR. but I am scared of the all the comments about battery and sensor issues. When I test drove the steering felt tight and also the one pedal driving and gear change on steering needs getting used to
What battery and sensor issues are you referring to? I’ve had a model Y for 2 years and not a single maintenance issue. The steering feel can be adjusted and you get used to the one pedal driving in a few days.
Assuming you're buying and not leasing? I'd consider the fact the model Y's longevity and resale value to be considerably less than a RAV4/crv. Both because of build quality and also battery
I love everything about the new Honda CRV (new interior is quite nice) except that tragic CVT transmission. What about Volvo XC40 - can you get that in $40K range?
Volvo XC40 is more expensive than Q3 Audi, it’s at par or more than BMW X1. 55k
