Backdoor Roth ira question: i am above the income limit to contribute in roth ira. In order to do backdoor roth IRA, i transfer money from my checking account to traditional ira and later transfer from traditional to roth ira. My understanding is since money was already taxed(checking account), it will not be taxed when transferred from traditional to roth ira and neither i need to pay tax on it at withdrawal once eligible. Please confirm

Correct, but make sure you don't have a balance in your traditional IRA, otherwise you might have to look into the pro rata rule

Confirmed. In addition to D1’s comment, there’s an important language difference: you want to “convert,” not transfer (nor restate, etc.). This may be hidden under a “transfer” link (i.e., fidelity), but is an important distinction.

Hi lads,
Anyone please help me understand what would be my monthly salary that will get credited, with/without the tax deduction on monthly basis.

And I'm new to all this I don't know what is variable pay, basic etc. Please help understand this by writing few description on above points. Also by submitting the home rent agreement how much will be saving, and will that only be sufficient or i can add more bills to avoid the dedication. If yes what types of bills i can submit like fuel bills etc.

Hello 🐠- first time home buyer and closing is in next 45 days. Have a decent Credit score (757) and Worried with fluctuating bond yields/ interest rates . Any suggestions on how to research for better lenders with less interest rates. Searching online gives too many confusing results. Few friends referred some (3-4) lenders who provided similar rates to me. I’m now confused if I need to keep shopping with a hope for better rates or to stop and lock with better one among these lenders. TIA

My investing strategy is just to DCA into an S&P 500 index fund and keep buying and holding. If I understand correctly, the sole disadvantage this has compared to a tax sheltered retirement account is that the quarterly dividends will be taxed? My husband and I have saved up about $80K and it’s just sitting in our bank account. We thought we were going to buy a townhome but with the crazy inflated prices we decided not to since we like where we live currently (location could not be better and rent is crazy cheap at only $700 a month). Looking for advice for investing in these two options. Say I have $100k by October saved up
1) Put 10k into iBonds and $90k as downpyament and closing costs for a property (I’ll need to put in 20%, already talked to several mortgage agents)
2) Put $0 in ibonds and put all the $100k in the home investing (given it’s a little more of an expensive property, given some other factors - location, size, etc)
