I’d abandon ship. Start job hunting, a PIP is a foot out the door. I’d rather say I worked at Big4 and voluntarily left than fired for cause.
Honestly, if you're on pip, I'd just talk to your people manager and suggest that you leave now for a severance package. If they terminate you off the pip, there's no package. And technically you wouldn't qualify for unemployment.
They will likely accept the severance just to alleviate the annoyance of dealing with the pip.

I don't mind termination as long as there is a package 😂, I was hoping they can be upfront.
And if they plan to let me go, will they use PIP as evidence not to give me the severance package?

Just a thought... I assume they are dissatisfied with the current staff and are finding new teams while gradually clearing old ones...
My confusion is if they are not satisfied with my performance, they can give me a bad rating and give me the honest feedback earlier this year, not until after I started these conversations.
Was it a mistake to initiate these conversations? That it's pointless to point out there is not enough work, because it's something they already know and by pointing it out will only make them want to get rid of me 😂
