Basic training is designed to push everyone past their limits and then build them up better than before. As hard as it is, try to trust the process. You will be glad you did.

The first week can be the hardest because your body is making an adjustment to the physical strain of the training. Just like going to the gym, first and second day will give you body sore, but when you continue to do what you have started, you will see results and you feel way better than before.

Yes we should trust the process of what basic training is. But at the same time, it has already changed basic for the worst case all because people can't take certain scenarios without potentially getting their feelings hurt

My family gets so shocked when I tell them how I actually enjoyed most of the test in basic training. It was a great adrenaline rush.

You'll learn so much about yourself in basic training. I never knew how disciplined or resilient I could be

I've been retired from the air force for 15 years and told my niece that I think she would be good for the air force. She's terrified of going through basic training so I don't push anymore.

I wanted to quit when I was still young. But look at me now, I am on the other end of the stick. Grit is the determining factor whether a soldier can be good vs great.

You're absolutely right. I am thankful for what I went through. It only made me like myself more, and believe that I can do the impossible. Always push through.

I found my best friends during basic training. I just hope we can all make it out of this intact.

You are right! Most of the trainees didn't make it. But I stayed and persevered.

Took my first ever sick day today on account of my very poor and worsening mental health. Just could not bring myself to put in another 14 hour day with back to back meetings and constant activity. Felt very guilty but I honestly wish I could be more honest and actually share with my manager about why I took a day off.

For those also going through this, any tips on how you manage yourself day to day? What self talk tends to help?
