I applied for a position through a recruiter and made it through the interview rounds with the actual company and received a verbal offer, but haven’t heard back since. Am I able to reach out directly to HR for updates or does all communication have to be filtered through the recruiter?

I have been working remotely since covid getting nothing but positive reviews. My company is not remote friendly and is now telling me I have to return to the office or I lose my job. I just found out a co-worker had a remote position created for them, without a job posting, without an interview and without the experience required (normally a license or certification would be mandatory). When non-ad ppl ask you what do you do? In terms of title; do you tell them “copywriter”? Or immediately assume they dont know and might confuse it with copyright infringement, and just end up telling them that you’re a writer or a creative director, and skip the hassle

RANT: People re-writing a cw’s stuff has always been painful. These days it’s far more common than when I started. It’d be one thing if they upgraded the work. If I learned from it. If I genuinely seethed with envy over their wit w/that perfectly placed semi-colon. People can’t re-art direct stuff bc they don’t know the programs so they ask the ADs for changes. Word and a keyboard made everyone think they can write. Which they can’t. Google Slides is Google slip ‘n slide into (bad ref. here.)
