Quick qstn - I'm receiving HRA of 24075 from my employer but I would like dhow the rent paid as 96k p.a (while filing ITR). Even if I do so, I was only able to get exemption of 24075 from gross. Checking if we can speak to payroll department to increase Actual HRA since I'm actually paying more rent than compared. Will I be able to do so ?Deloitte Newco EY Accenture Genpact KPMG

You should check the pts redemption rates. Without knowing your dates, a quick search showed me that it would he cheaper to transfer to AirFrance/KLM or Delta. If you're looking to fly Emirates specifically then that's a different story.
For what route? Wouldn’t say Emirates is the “best” and any award ticket is dependent on award availability with the airline (important to check before transfer points)
Flying Emirates up front = good
Transferring cc points to emirates skywards = bad
They have terrible redemptions values and high surcharges/taxes. Other programs like Alaska allow you to redeem for Emirates at much better rates. Not sure if they are AMEX transfer partners though.
Flying NYC to Dubai round-trip. You think it's a bad idea to transfer points?
Also only a bad idea to transfer points before you find award space. Don’t want to be stuck with a ton of miles you can’t use for what you want than Amex points
Thank you all for the input.
To echo other, AMEX points transfer instantly, so find availability first and then transfer to the airline that has availability. You can’t transfer AMEX points to Alaska, unfortunately. You can also transfer AMEX points to Emirates partner Qantas, but Emirates own award chart is likely to be better. If you’re looking to fly economy, just pay cash and don’t bother using points, as the fuel surcharges you’ll have to pay when using points on Emirates can be almost as high as the cash fare.
Also consider flying to Abu Dhabi instead of to Dubai. You can transfer AMEX points to Etihad and some of the Etihad partners. Abu Dhabi airport is less than an hour drive from Dubai. Sadly, chauffeur service is no longer included when flying on award tickets.
