Who else loves free slippers?

Thoughts on a Omega De Ville Prestige as a first luxury watch? Would be ~$7.5K USD at retail. Some friends have said great things about Omega as a starter, whereas others say it’s not worth it over a Rolex Oyster Perpetual (which would be similar in cost).
I personally love how clean the design is, the use of gold, and the thinner band as it links the watch … find the Rolex band design to be too chunky.

Anyone else riding the $HIVE wave?
McKinsey & Company I am joining the McKinsey & Company Boston office in late July and searching for housing in the meantime. If I could get some insight on the ratio of days in the office vs work from home that would be super helpful!
If I need to come into the office regularly I will try to find a place close by.

Why are so many people leaving Facebook?
When is it best to leave consulting? Here's how I think about it.
First, are you enjoying it? If so, why leave (it can be a great life long career)?
Second, are you still learning fast? If not, you're missing out.
Last, what skills do most employers value? In my experience, this dictates 2 optimal jumping off points:
(a) 2-3 years in. Consulting "tool kit" is solid
(b) ~1-2 year into Manager. Employers value experience managing people.

Something doesn’t add up. You came in as a business analyst at McKinsey but have an MBA from booth? Did you do McKinsey for a few years -> Mba -> McKinsey? Or are you from an international location.
Google typically will match your salary at least if it’s an in-demand role
If you have an MBA it's really low. Google trends to hire over qualified people for very basic roles. I'm interviewing with them too. Try gunning for a level 5 role if possible. Based on what you're saying they're probably bringing you in at a level 3/4.
Definitely low
MBA from Booth
Another data point - had intro call with google for similar S&O manager role last week and they said 150 base + 15% bonus + stock (was vague on the amount but seemed less than 40k). Also seemed low compared to where I am today
If you’re at McKinsey I wouldn’t take less than a 30% pay raise but depends if you want to exit consulting or are taking an opportunistic leap
You’re like 50% if what you should be getting for that level of experience..
He’s at 150K base at McKinsey and probably ~15% bonus + 5% retirement. So $180K total. Which makes the 110K a very low offer
For reference a google BizOps offer I got with 4 years experience no MBA was 110K base + 40K per year stock + 15% bonus.
Def low
What’s your base now if you don’t mind saying, with an MBA from Booth alone that feels low
What level are they offering? Google notoriously levels down. And base numbers tend to be quite low but they can raise with equity. Push back! If it’s L4 I imagine base could go as high as 140.
Way low, especially if in SF.
I interviewed for the exact same role last week, they said they’ll let me know this week. This is super low.
Will let you know what offer I get if at all.
That’s insultingly low. Do you have others options?
Thanks, it felt very low!
I imagine you’re at 150k~ for base plus bonus, so what did they say when you brought that up? Did they say they wouldn’t match?
It's definitely low relative to you and there will be devs making twice the amount you do with the same years of exp. However, you're not Google's bread and butter, so the lower offer isn't too surprising. Moreover, the role just may not be important enough to the business or is easy enough to fill that it doesn't justify a higher salary no matter the background. You may have better luck trying for a product manager offer
S&O SMB manager
