Best certifications to get if you want to grow as a consultant in the software-cloud computing sector?

Anyone hear of a patent attorney going to an investment bank, hedge fund, or venture capital firm?? Considering a change. Thought I could use my skills to help investors analyze and valuate companies.

My company went toxic in the last couple months. Chose me and started interviewing. Had a very successful interview with Amazon but recruiter is working hard trying to place me and said there’s no knowing how long to find a team. Meanwhile I just received a Director offer for a company with a 29% pay bump July 1. If Amazon or any other FAANG/large co gets back to me, is there an acceptable way to not burn bridges with new job and accept or delay start date with FAANG? Or fuck it just hop?

What kinds of books, podcasts, TED talks, etc would you recommend for a recent college grad who has low self esteem, is professionally immature and for whom the prospect of entering the world of work is daunting and stressful?

Hi all! I’m inclined on taking up the CIPM training and certification exam. I’m already a certified Data Protection Officer in the Philippines. I intend on skipping CIPP as it applies to the US and EU.

How difficult was the exam? Can you share your experience studying for the CIPM exam? Is it advisable to skip CIPP?

Newish to data analytics. Have some experience in power BI, sql, and R. I wanted to get some exposure to aws and saw the AWS cloud practitioner as an available course at my job. Is this cert worth it? Or should I try one of the more advanced ones ? The data analytics one for example but wasn’t sure if it would be difficult to get through as a beginner. Why do tech people like Stratecherry so much? I don’t find it particularly insightful. Am I missing something?

Service design seems a popular role in consulting in the past year or so, certainly seeing more grads go down this route. Is there much overlap with business analysis? When I’ve worked with service designers the output seems to be another version of a process map, are there other skills and experience needed? I’m wondering how easy a move would be from business analysis to service design...

Even without LinkedIn, I see a lot of people younger than me in much better roles. They started off with relevant jobs right out of college. I graduated in 2009 when the economy tanked and worked in retail for years before I was finally able to land in corporate. Does anybody else struggle with this as well? I’m constantly comparing myself to others who are younger than me.
