What is take home salary if 9.5 lakhs CTC in UST
Hi ,I have been interviewed and selected in S&P Global .salary almost negotiated and waiting for the offer letter to release. But seems like they are not willing to release the offer because of my 90 np . They are asking to join by 60 days but initially I told them my NP is 90. Even I am ready to take the 60 days offer but now they are not releasing offer as they want assurance. Now they are not picking calls.seems like i will loose the offer. Is there anything can be done.

Don’t invest money you’re not willing to lose. Especially for older individuals (parents) without a long term horizon to recoup

A HYSA for most of it is likely appropriate assuming they plan to use the money. If they don't need it and it will eventually be gifted to children/grandchildren then index fund is a great option.

Duration of “parking this” and what the money will eventually be used for / where it will go to are key considerations to answer this question.
Should be managed alongside their broader portfolio, not individually
The broader portfolio should be a mix of stocks and bonds depending on their age and any upcoming big purchases

It’ll eventually just go to kids. They haven’t done any investing other than in small business and using CD’s. Been very cash heavy most of their lives. So now it’s like what to do it. They’ll have some income coming in from business investments but the pile of cash needs to work for them in some way. HYSA for a good chunk, but then what else ? There is a chunk of cash set aside for future passive investments in partnerships in small business.

Turnkey rental properties and/or index funds with the rest. If this is going to kids then the investment window is / should be considered longer than their lifetimes. Unfortunate they’ve been so cash heavy for what appears to be a long time ... imagine $100k in the market for the last 10, 20, 30 years
