Bit of a niche question, but keen for other dad opinions. My 7 yo son loves reading his kindle, mostly for Pokémon comic books but he does also read chapter books. But he races through them like faster than I could, and if I stop him to ask what happened on even just the page before he can’t give accurate answers. I am generally uncomfortable when I’m around my mother-in-law’s husband.

While he is overall a decent guy, his anger issues, yelling at his wife for the slightest issue, and insulting nature makes me uncomfortable and triggers my own anger due to his blatant disrespect for just about everyone around him.
