A few months ago I asked the question about using travel smart routers to host a VPN to disguise your location. The purpose of this is to have a working vacation in a foreign country, without telling work about it. My work computer has restricted access so I cannot install a VPN service on the computer without help from IT. My work around is a smart router that can directly host a VPN. Now I am in Cabo with a VPN to the US. I’ve included some details in a comment below. AMA

I got an email on Friday at 1:30 asking for my availability this week for an interview and I responded back Saturday at 11:30 and sent the recruiter an email letting him know I responded and I was looking forward to the interview but I haven’t heard back. I applied at this company and last Friday they verified my references. And then 4 days later hiring manager sets up a phone conversation letting me know they still have other finalist they are interviewing and will let me know when t they make a decision. I really wanted this job and now idk if I’ll even get it. But my question, why would she verify my references and not offer me the job!is that normal ? This never happened to me before 😞
