Can anyone give me insight on working at Capital One - specifically within Audit? I have 1.5 years of audit experience and now 2 years accounting (advisory) at Deloitte, but I want to return to auditing financial institutions.

I worked at PwC in audit for 1.5 years and then moved into a Capital One senior role a few months ago. My role at Capital one is not audit related however, from coworkers who are in audit, it sounds like a really good set up - rarely more than 40 hours a week and the firm is large enough that each audit will be different and you won’t get bored too fast. The manager plus levels probably experience less WLB for sure, however, still much better than public accounting. The pay will be worse, unless you are getting a promotion into the new role, but that’s the only downside.

That is great insight, thank you! I see there are a few audit different teams (e.g Risk Management, Commercial Banking, etc). Do you know anything about the difference between the work they do?

Hi, Can you provide me with a referral?

I messed up my screenshare in a meeting with 2 colleagues and showed my personal email that had scheduling info for my onsite interviews with another company. How were your experiences when letting it out the bag early like that?

Hey All,
I finished a third round interview, and HR contacted me that afternoon saying I had positive feedback across the board and they would contact me the next day regarding next steps. It’s been two days and they finally get back to me saying they haven’t been able to sync with the hiring manager but will keep me posted. Honestly I wish they would talk with the hiring manager and then let me know the decision instead of checking in. It’s messing with my emotions.

Anyone hiring those who have been out of work for a year? I took time off to tend to personal matters, but I am now looking to get back into the workforce again. My previous experience includes time at B4 audit up to senior level and then transitioned to manager in industry. Senior/manager roles are preferred.

I don’t mind audit. However, I’d prefer it not to be at a B4, as I am looking for some semblance of a work life balance.

DM me if you have something above, thanks.
