Depends - if your career is within Audit then no you cannot. You need a CPA for promotion to manager, but if you are in consultation, then you should be able to without a cpa although they might want you to be certified in another certification like a PMP

like

At Kpmg and specifically in deal advisory you need it for director (SM equivalent)

like

If I’m tax maybe, but it’s much easier to advance if you have CPA

If in**

I think it really depends on the firm. I’m at a mid-sized regional firm and our policy is that you must have your CPA to advance past senior. A few people have stayed seniors for years despite not getting licensed, but most end up leaving the firm after 1-2 years as senior if they aren’t licensed.

Curious if anyone else is or has been in the same boat. I started as an assistant at an entertainment law firm prior to passing the bar. Upon passing, the partner told me they would hire an assistant for me since I now became an associate. That was 1.5 years ago and I am still in the limbo of juggling my own workload + doing assistant roles for my supervisors. I have also had no increase in pay, which is a huge deal for me. Is this normal in the entertainment world? Any suggestions?

For those of you in healthcare related account management, what is your healthcare background? I am clinical and getting ready to hire a higher level account manager. I am really biased toward people with clinical/in hospital experience because, quite frankly, healthcare is a different beast - lots of hand holding and change management. I don’t want to miss the right person because of my bias, so im wondering how many healthcare related AMs have healthcare/clinical experience… thanks in advance!
