Don’t join. Transfer can be rejected. Speaking from experience.
M1 - who will decide, if I can join on receipt or approval or I can just let the resource manager know that I am willing to work on the receipt notice
It’s up to you. Legally speaking , you are eligible to start working after a receipt of notice. Reach out to the recruiter to get in touch with immigration team
Legally you can join; the risk is that if it gets rejected, you pretty much have no option left....
A colleague had to travel back to India in similar situation
Its not worth the risk
Approval will take many months. If you can afford the wait , go ahead. Else you can join on a receipt notice like I did couple of years ago
Usually they’re not allowing folks to join on Receipt. If they do, it’s a gamble with pretty much 50/50 odds. If u can stay until approval, that’s ideal scenario else go for it.
EY1 - i have heard that it takes around 6-8 months to get a decision since there is no premium processing.
6-7 months is too long for a wait😔
Join and take the chance
Take the risk only if you're willing to go back in case of rejection
I joined PwC on receipt and got it approved. So there is a positive story here
Also to add to that, my H1B is expiring July 2019
So not sure how to go about filing the extension even if I join EY
Good luck with that.
Do some risk-reward analysis; if the rewards are worth the risk, go for it.
With limited information shared, it does not seem to..
@op no risk no gain! I think worst case scenario, you get out of this misery best case scenario you make more money and have a better profile. What if your extension get rejected? You don’t have much control over situations.
