EY Deloitte PwC people - would you leave your current employer for a 15%-25% total comp difference? This translates to a 25-45k difference per annum, largely driven by bonus at the new firm (20-40%), much smaller than my current employer. Because when the term was coined Microsoft was in the doldrums, and it is old tech, so hence FAANG for the winners of new tech.
For those that don’t know, FAANG originated in the investing world by Jim Cramer. I believe he’s recently suggested it should be FAAM now

That's why saying Big Tech makes 100% more sense, so you don't need to change the acronym every few years as companies gain and lose eligibility conditions.

Part of it is potentially the brand cache. Microsoft isn’t hyper-trendy and hasn’t grabbed headlines in the same way the others have
They actually have a ton in the past 2 years! Definitely much better / more coveted in the past few years
FAANG is from the investment and stocks acronyms. Shares worth investing in
By market cap, Its really MAGA stocks (FB and especially Netflix smaller): microsoft, apple, google, amazon
FAANG is an outdated term.
