Can anyone shed some light on your experience hoping firms? I signed a noncompete when I joined my current consulting practice and am a bit confused on what all that could and could not disqualify me from. Am I allowed to be an analytics consultant for a different consulting firm no problem? As long as it isn’t the same analytics platform? Just can’t start my own firm otherwise I’m good to go?

Friendly tip: Don't burn bridges even with those who are leaving - our industry is small (even in Manhattan) and you will almost certainly see that person again if you stay in pharma

Curious if anyone else is or has been in the same boat. I started as an assistant at an entertainment law firm prior to passing the bar. Upon passing, the partner told me they would hire an assistant for me since I now became an associate. I’m about to give my notice at a firm I’ve been at for the majority of my legal career. They’ve recently offered me non-equity partnership (which I’ve accepted), w equity partnership on the horizon. My title is technically Marketing Lead but I want to put Head of Marketing on my LinkedIn etc. I think of these titles as totally interchangeable—I just like the way the second one reads better. So I have been seeing a guy for 4 months. We have a pay disparity.. he earns less than I do (by quite a bit). He has mentioned a few times that he’s worried I’ll get bored of him when I know he can’t afford the same things I can. I think we are beginning to move past this, but now he’s starting to mention things like ‘I am really broke this month’, and last weekend he told me his mum has lost her job and he’ll have to probably pay her rent. Coming to the realization that consulting is not for me (tech person) feeling angry that salaries at D will never be on pair with FANG and that leadership is not tech focused. For example you could be a soul contributor at fang making 240k and people at Deloitte wait 10+ years to earn that as Senior Managers because they need to climb the corporate ladder. It seems super clear cut to me now, if you want to make money in tech don’t join consulting firms. Am I wrong?
